Summary
Seeking a highly strategic and experienced Business Development and Financial Partnerships leader to be the foundational hire for our expansion into the United States. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our U.S. market strategy, establishing key infrastructure partnerships, and driving initial growth. With a strong background in Fintech, particularly with stablecoins, this candidate will leverage their 8+ years of experience to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, both internally and externally, and build lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas
- U.S. Strategy Development: Collaborate with global leadership to define, refine, and implement the go-to-market strategy for the United States.
- Business Development & Financial Partnerships: Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with key players in the U.S. financial ecosystem, including infrastructure providers, banks, fintech companies, and other relevant entities.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage relationships and communication with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in for strategic initiatives.
- Internal Selling & Collaboration: Champion the U.S. strategy internally, working across different teams (product, legal, compliance, engineering) to ensure successful partnership execution and market entry.
- Market Intelligence: Act as the eyes and ears on the ground, gathering insights on the U.S. fintech and stablecoin landscape, competitive dynamics, and regulatory environment to inform strategy.
- Foundational Leadership: As the first hire in the U.S., contribute to building the initial operational footprint and potentially future team structure.
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, or a similar role, preferably within the Fintech sector.
- Domain Expertise: Demonstrable experience and understanding of the stablecoin ecosystem and broader financial technology landscape.
- Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to think strategically, develop long-term plans and translate strategy into actionable partnership initiatives.
- Partnership & Negotiation: Strong track record of successfully negotiating and closing complex partnership deals.
- Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and manage relationships effectively across all levels, both internally and externally.
- Generalist & Adaptable: Comfortable operating in a dynamic, early-stage environment with broad responsibilities; a self-starter capable of navigating ambiguity.
- U.S. Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the U.S. financial services market, relevant players, and regulatory considerations is highly desirable.
