Senior Legal Counsel
About Reap
Reap is a global financial technology company headquartered in Hong Kong with employees across multiple countries. We enable financial connectivity and access for businesses worldwide by combining traditional finance with stablecoins for efficient money movement.
Through our stablecoin-powered corporate cards, payments, and expense management tools, we streamline financial operations and help businesses scale. Our APIs enable businesses to integrate stablecoin-enabled finance into their own products and services—from issuing Visa cards to facilitating cross-border payments.
Backed by leading investors including Acorn Pacific, Index Ventures and HashKey Capital, Reap is building the future of borderless, stablecoin-enabled finance.
Why Reap?
You're a sharp legal mind who can zoom out to see the big picture while staying hands-on in the details. At Reap, you'll contribute to shaping legal strategy across a fast-growing, multi-jurisdictional fintech—not just executing tasks, but helping us think through how we build a legal function that scales.
This role is designed with growth in mind. There's a clear path to take on greater ownership and seniority as you prove your impact. We're at the inflection point between startup and scale-up, which means the work you do today directly shapes the legal foundation of a category-defining company. You'll have direct access to leadership and genuine influence over key legal decisions from day one.
What You'll Do
Advise on and lead commercial legal matters: Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including client contracts, partnership agreements, and vendor arrangements, with a focus on ensuring alignment with Reap's commercial objectives
Support multi-jurisdictional legal operations: Establish and maintain legal coverage across Reap's key markets and liaising with external counsel where required and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks
Drive legal process improvement: Design and implement AI-assisted legal workflows to improve turnaround times and operational efficiency, without compromising quality on complex or high-stakes matters
Serve as a strategic legal partner to the business: Advise cross-functional stakeholders including product, finance, and sales teams on legal risk, regulatory requirements, and structuring considerations across Reap's expanding product lines and geographies
Contribute to the development of the legal function: Help build the infrastructure, processes, and team capabilities that will support Reap's continued growth across LATAM, APAC, and beyond
What We're Looking For
Qualified to practise law in Hong Kong, Singapore, or another common law jurisdiction
Minimum 5–8 years PQE, with solid in-house or private practice experience in fintech, payments, financial services, or a related sector
Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment and exercising sound legal judgment under ambiguity
Genuinely interested in the application of AI and automation to legal work—you view technology as a tool to enhance legal quality and efficiency, not a threat to the profession
Hands-on in approach: willing to draft and negotiate directly, not solely to oversee or review the work of others
Strong communicator with the ability to translate complex legal considerations into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders
Based in Hong Kong or Singapore, with the ability to support a globally distributed team
Nice to Have
Experience in crypto payments, card issuing, or stablecoin-related regulatory frameworks
Background in fintech licensing or regulatory compliance across APAC and/or LATAM markets
Exposure to M&A, venture financing, or fundraising transactions
Why You'll Love it Here
A high-impact role in a rapidly growing fintech startup
Flexible hybrid work environment with a global, collaborative team
Insurance coverage after probation
Reap Card stipend and remote setup allowance
Use of AI tools at work — and the space to learn, experiment, and grow with them
A culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning
