About the Role

This is the first dedicated engineering role driving Reap's web3 technical initiatives for the Card product. You'll own the web3 capabilities and wallet infrastructure discovery — shaping how blockchain technology powers Reap's next generation of financial products. You'll work at the frontier of fintech × web3, building production-grade systems that move real money for real businesses. If you want outsized ownership, direct impact on product direction, and the chance to define what web3 looks like inside a fast-scaling fintech, this is your role.

What You’ll Do

• Design and deploy production-grade smart contracts across multiple blockchains (Solana, Ethereum, and others as the business expands)

• Own CaaS web3 capabilities — build secure, scalable blockchain systems for card-as-a-service, asset management, and financial use cases

• Lead wallet infrastructure discovery and development — architecting wallet solutions that support Reap's product roadmap

• Build backend services (Node.js/TypeScript) to support on-chain functionality, working closely with backend engineering

• Collaborate with product and business teams to translate ideas into clear, secure technical execution

• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and security audits

• Leverage AI tools and modern development practices to drive engineering efficiency and velocity

What We’re Looking For

• 5-8+ years in software development, ideally with backend engineering experience in Node.js/TypeScript and AWS (or similar cloud infrastructure)

• 3+ years building smart contracts on Solana (Rust) or Ethereum (Solidity), with strong expertise in at least one and openness to developing in a multi-chain environment

• Experience building wallet infrastructure (hot/cold wallet)

• Strong product sense and ability to take end-to-end ownership of technical initiatives

• Demonstrated use of AI tools to boost development efficiency

• Clear communication, collaboration, and commitment to code quality

• Fintech sector experience ideal

Nice to Have

• Experience with DeFi protocols, cross-chain integrations, or account abstraction

• Knowledge of finance systems or payments products (especially card issuance or stablecoin-powered payments)

• Startup experience where you've worn multiple hats
