Security at Reap

Reap builds financial connectivity for a multi‑rail world-traditional finance, stablecoins, and real‑time payments. Security is foundational to that mission. We're looking for a pragmatic engineer who can turn regulation into robust systems, and complex threats into clear controls. You'll partner with Engineering, Risk, and Operations to keep value moving safely, globally, and 24/7.

Your Mission

Reap is mid-acquisition by Payward/Kraken and we have a live contractual problem: Client requires that no Payward employee can access client data held by Reap. Today we have no data catalogue, no classification scheme, and no audit trail that proves the boundary is being enforced. That is the gap you will close.

As our first Data Governance Manager, you will build Reap's data governance function from scratch, starting with the client data segregation framework as your day-one priority and expanding into a full DCAM-aligned programme across all five of our jurisdictions. This is a hands-on builder role in a company that is growing fast and needs the data infrastructure to match.

What You Will Do

• Build and own the data segregation framework: map every data asset across our production systems, Snowflake, dashboards, and pipelines; classify it as Restricted; and put the access controls in place that keep Payward-affiliated personnel out.

• Stand up the Data Governance Council and chair it: bring together CISO, CRO, COO, Head of Product, Head of Engineering, and CFO into a functioning quarterly governance body with a real decision log.

• Publish and enforce the Data Classification Policy across all of Reap's jurisdictions: four tiers, applied from day one, with data as the first use case.

• Own our GDPR Article 30 Records of Processing Activities for data flows and keep them current as we add products and geographies.

• Build the enterprise data catalogue: document lineage, ownership, and access rights for our highest-risk data domains, starting with and payment card data.

• Own our DSAR process end-to-end in coordination with our external DPO.

• Lead the five-phase DCAM-aligned Data Governance programme beyond the client foundation: data quality, metadata management, data catalogue tooling, and control integration with our security stack.

Your Superpowers

• 5+ years in data governance, data management, or a CDO/data office function. You have built programmes, not just documented policies.

• You have done this in a regulated environment. Financial services, fintech, or crypto is a strong plus. You understand what it means when a regulator asks for evidence.

• Hands-on with at least one data catalogue tool. Alation, Atlan, Collibra, or Microsoft Purview. You have procured or deployed one, not just evaluated it.

• You have designed and enforced data classification schemes. Including in environments with third-party data segregation obligations.

• GDPR Art. 30 ROPA ownership. You know what a defensible ROPA looks like and how to keep it current without it becoming a once-a-year exercise.

• You are a programme manager who can run a governance council. You get busy senior stakeholders into a room, make decisions, and close loops.

Nice to Have

• CDMP or CIPP/E certification.

• Experience with DORA operational risk data requirements.

• Familiarity with PDPA (Singapore) and PDPO (Hong Kong).
